REZZ is one of the most distinctive voices in bass music. Self-taught and fiercely original, she’s built a world of hypnotic textures and industrial edge that fans instantly recognize.

Her latest album, As The Pendulum Swings, carries that vision forward, blending raw power with a deeper sense of maturity. We sat down with her to talk about her journey, her process, and what makes her one of the defining forces in electronic music today.

You’ve said Deadmau5 was a huge influence on you early on. Can you take us back to that first moment of inspiration? What clicked for you and made you want to start producing?

The first time I saw him was at veld , when I was 16. I noticed how crisp/clean his drums were, and that was before I even had a clue about anything production related. 2 years later, I was 18 and saw him at Hard day of the dead in LA, which was my first time ever traveling for leisure.

I saved up that money from working at hardrock cafe. After seeing him perform there, that's when it clicked. Songs like "slip" and "superliminal" are what made me realize I had to make music. there was a hypnotic and dark feel i got from those tracks, i remember thinking to myself "I'd love to hear a slower version of these" and that's what birthed me making music in the 90-110 bpm range.

You’re known for working with a pretty minimal setup. What does your workflow look like these days?

it's still the exact same. macbook, sol republic headphones, internal plugins like serum/fab filter. I still use all the same stuff basically. I recently really liked Shaperbox as well.

For your new album “As The Pendulum Swings.” What was your vision for the album’s aesthetic?

The vision for this album is definitely an industrial feel. I think this body of work adds a bit more of a mature/updated version of what fans love me for in the first place. A few of the tracks are actually ideas started 10 years ago and finished in 2025. One of the songs i didn't even alter LOL.

"Blue People" is from 2015, but I threw it in there just for the Ogs.. the rest of the songs are all new/re-imagined. I definitely worked with some incredible underground industrial artists who have been around for a lonnnnnggg time.

Tell me more about your live shows, certain events like “REZZ Rocks” have become cult classics for your fans. What do you want people to feel when they step into a REZZ set?

I want to change their lives and inspire them like crazy. A "sick set !" could never be enough coming from someone to see my set. I want them to have an out of body experience, I want them to feel inspired, and I want them to feel like it is the greatest performance they have ever seen by a landslide. Everyday, I work for that.

If someone brand new to your music wanted to understand who REZZ is, which track or project would you point them to first?

The obvious answer would be "edge" , but I think contorted is a big one too.

And there you have it! I want to thank REZZ for giving me the opportunity to ask my questions. If you want to check out As The Pendulum Swings click here.
